MILDRED CLARK MERRITT, 79, of Kenova, W.Va., died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born June 30, 1930, in Logan, W.Va., a daughter of the late Golden and Columbia Runyon Clark. Mildred retired from Owens-Illinois, and she also worked as a greeter at the South Point Wal-Mart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jack Merritt. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Tooley of Kenova; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeanne Merritt of West Burlington, Iowa and James Merritt of Kenova; five grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Seth and Sarah Merritt, Jacob Merritt and Jordan Merritt, Donovan Tooley and Dana Tooley; one great-grandson, Colin Merritt; one brother, Golden Clark Jr., of Columbus, Ohio and one very special friend, Gloria Harshbarger. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, at Rollins Funeral Home, Kenova with her son, Rev. Michael Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Rollins Funeral Home.
