JERRY LEE SHANK KRAUSE, 78, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, in Tallahassee, Florida. Graveside inurnment service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Ridgelawn Memorial Gardens, 5547 W. Pea Ridge Rd., Huntington, WV. Mrs. Krause was born March 14, 1931, to the late Jimmie and Catherine Shank, in Huntington. She attended Marshall College, now University, in Huntington, where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, a cheerleader, and homecoming queen. After moving to Millersburg, Kentucky, in 1958, she worked at the University of Kentucky, Millersburg Military Institute, and Stamler Corporation. She moved to Tallahassee, Florida, in 1987, where she was employed by the law firm of Young, Van Assenderp, Varnadoe and Benton. After her retirement, she enjoyed reading, needlework, and her dog, Buttons, who was her constant companion. Mrs. Krause is survived by her son, Jim (Karen) of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and her daughter, Kathie Hock (Randy) of Tallahassee, Florida. She was the proud grandmother of Krysta Paquette of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bryon Krause (Lindsey) of Woodbury, Minnesota, Mike Krause (Jessica) of Madison Lake, Minnesota, Kara Lee Thornberry of Palm Harbor, Florida, Mallory Thornberry, of Gumi, South Korea, and Aubrey Thornberry Bock (Justin) of Neptune Beach, Florida. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL 32308.
